My Passion For Disney

Updated: Dec 13, 2020

Today I want to talk a little bit more about myself and my love for Disney! I'd love for you to get to know me a little bit and understand why I started my blog!

Ever since I was a little kid I have been going to Disneyland. My family used to have annual passes so we would drive from Arizona to California every couple of months and visit the parks! I absolutely fell in love with the magic. I loved how as soon as you enter those gates, you felt different. You felt the magic, the freedom, the love, and the fun. It wasn't until 6th grade that I understood what Disney was all about.

In 6th grade I went on a Disney trip with my school and I had the time of my life. My favorite part was a tour my school got to take where we learned about the magic behind the parks. We learned all about Walt, the rides, the characters, and more. I was so inspired and my love for Disney grew even more. Since then, Walt Disney has been my main inspiration. When I had hardships I would remember the hardships Walt had and how he never gave up and now his dreams are affecting the dreams of millions of people. I wanted to be just like him.

In 7th grade I discovered my love for acting. I joined my drama club and did my very first show. The Little Mermaid Jr. From then on, I knew I wanted to pursue acting. I acted all through high school and even into college. I was never a lead role or the best actor in my class but that never stopped me because I remembered what Walt taught me.

In my Sophomore year of college I applied for the Disney College Program. I wanted to work for Disney so bad and my dream was to perform in shows and parades. So I applied. My friends and I signed up to attend an audition in my state to be a performer during the Disney College Program and I was so beyond scared. I went to the audition, expecting to get cut the first round, and ended up making it all 3 rounds of the audition. I was so proud of myself for even making it that far in an audition for DISNEY that I didn't even care if I got the job or not, I made it as far as I thought I could. Then came the interview and that also went very well. I didn't have my hopes up about getting the performer job even though I made it far in the audition because I had been told "no" so many times in the past. So, during the interview I tried to sell myself as best I could for other roles I wanted. After the interview I waited and waited for my acceptance email. In March, I got the email. Not only did I get accepted into the program, I was accepted as a performer and was set to move to Florida in May and work for Walt Disney World. Needless to say I was excited.

However, this was in 2020. The year of the Coronavirus. In April I got the dreaded email that my program was cancelled and I was no longer allowed to move and do the program. Along with thousands of others, I was devastated.

Of course this did not hinder my love for Disney in any way. In fact, it made it even stronger. I had started an instagram to use during my program that was all about Disney and I continue to use it and grow, even though I couldn't live my dream. My wardrobe is almost all Disney clothing, accessories, bags, and more. My life revolves around Disney and my passion for it continues to grow every single day.

To some, Disneyland is just a theme park, but to me it is a representation of dreams coming true. It shows just how much hard work can affect your life. It proves that dreams really can come true if you have the courage to pursue them!
