Ranking Disneyland Rides - Thrill Edition

Today I rank Disneyland and California Adventure Park thrill rides! These rankings are my opinion and I'd love to hear if you have differing thoughts! Let's get into it!

5. Matterhorn Bobsleds

The matterhorn bobsleds are a classic at Disneyland full of yetis, fun, and neck pain. Personally, I love this ride! I love the idea behind it and the scenery in both the line and the ride is great! The ride is fun and I think that it isn’t too short for the long line it usually has. It has really fun turns and dips all accompanied by a scary yeti. However, this is placed #5 on my list because it can be very jerk-y and may cause neck or back pain. While it is a fun ride, most theme-park goers can stand to miss this one because of the jerkiness. What are your thoughts on this ride?

4. Space Mountain

Yet another classic! Space Mountain is a fan favorite at both Disneyland and Disneyworld and it is a park “must-do” for many! It’s a high speed ride in the dark, like you’re on a rocket in space! Just like the matterhorn, the theming of both the line and the ride are perfect and the ride itself is very fun. However, some people do think of it similarly to the matterhorn in terms of pain. Some of the turns can get very jerky and therefore can be a bit painful to some. More often than not, this ride is a must - do but some people can stand to skip it to avoid possible pain. What are your thoughts on this ride?

3. Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission Breakout

This is a fairly new ride to California Adventure Park but only due to the change in theming. The original theme - The Hollywood Tower of Terror was loved by many and I definitely miss it. However, the new ride is the same ride style, just with a different theming which means the ride is just as fun and loved by many. This ride is a series of rises and falls in an elevator style ride with lots of theming, sounds, and music. This is a fan favorite ride to those who aren’t easily sick. This ride does make people nauseous easily due to the sudden drops so again, not everyone loves this ride. However, I did rank this higher than the rest because it is so loved by many and the theming is phenomenal. What are your thoughts on this ride?

2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Thunder Mountain is my favorite thrill ride in Disneyland. This ride is perfect for people of all ages. It is fast, fun, and safe. The difference in the fast and slow parts of the ride mixed with the fun and unique theme of the wild west makes for a great ride for kids and adults alike. I gave it second place because the theming, big hills, and twisted turns make a perfect thrill ride. However, if you are a thrill seeking adult, this ride might not cut it for you. Like I said, kids also love this ride which means It might not cut it for you if you are in need of a real thrill. What are your thoughts on this ride?

1. The Incredicoaster

The best thrill ride in Disneyland and California Adventure is the Incredicoaster! Otherwise known as California Screamin’ , this scream-worthy coaster has recently been rebranded and renamed. This ride is based on the movie “ The Incredibles” and is filled with a countdown take off, high hills, and even an upside down twist. The reason I ranked this the best is because it is the most thrilling in the parks. Unlike Thunder Mountain, this ride is more so for adults and will give you that thrill you may be looking for! What are your thoughts on this ride?
