Packing for the parks can be such a stressful and daunting task. I have a few tips and tricks that you need to know before packing for your next trip!
What to wear: Whether you’re going to the parks for fun, special occasions, or for photoshoots, picking your outfits can be so much fun! Too many people get stuck in the mindset that people will care what they wear or they’ll judge them or they are scared to be themselves. This needs to change! Disney is a place to be yourself, have fun, and relax. You should not care what others think of you because of clothes you like wearing! I do have a few tips and recommendations of clothing to wear but remember that you should always feel free to express yourself however you want!
Tips:
Dress Comfy! If you are spending a day in the parks, you’ll want to be comfortable and be able to walk around all day! This seems obvious but too many people feel an expectation to dress cute in the parks but that isn’t always the case! Find some cute and comfy clothes that you can wear all day without hurting!
Wear the right shoes! Find shoes that you can wear all day long without getting blisters, hurting your feet, or getting messed up! If you buy new shoes for your trip, make sure to break out your shoes before going so that your feet get used to them before walking around all day! The parks are huge and you may walk up to 8 miles if you are in the parks all day. Finding the right shoes for your feet is so important when packing for your trip!
Accessorizing for your trip can be so much fun! Pick out your favorite pair of ears, hat, bag, or any accessories you want and bring them along! I love going into the parks and seeing all the different accessories people have! If you don’t have any yet, there are great places to buy some in the parks or go online and find some small shops that may have designs you love!
What to pack in your bag while in the parks:
Packing for your trip is one thing, but packing your bag for inside the parks is a whole different level of importance! Here are a few items I always make sure I pack in my park bag!
Sunscreen! The parks can be very hot and spending all day in the sun is never good for your skin! Make sure you apply sunscreen every 2 hours in the parks to ensure sun protection!
Water! Water is so important when it comes to being outside. The parks do sell water but bringing your own bottle and refilling it can save you money to use on other things!
Snacks! We all love those classic churros and Mickey ice cream bars but bringing your own snacks is another way to save some money! Pack your own snacks sometimes for healthier and cheaper options in the parks. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to treat yourself once in a while! This tip is especially great for parents and allergy sufferers. Bring snacks you know you or your kids love and will fit your needs!
Character Autograph books! I loved having my very own autograph book when I was a kid and I still use it to this day. Having a book to remember each character interaction you are lucky enough to come across is amazing and a great activity for kids!
Umbrella and raincoat! For my friends that are fans of Disneyworld, we all know it gets very rainy in the parks. If you are going to be vacationing in WDW Resort, be sure to bring your own umbrella and raincoat. Of course, these items will be available at almost any store in the parks, bringing your own is yet another cheaper option and you’ll be prepared ahead of time!
Pain, nausea, and headache medicine! We all fantasize about the perfect day in the parks but it is always good to be prepared for the worst. Walking around all day, riding high speed rides, and not getting enough sleep can make for a lot of pain and discomfort. Being prepared ahead of time is the best way to handle it because you won’t have to worry about finding these things while already in pain.
Portable chargers! Yet another great item to have available when spending all day in the parks. Nowaday WDW does offer charger trading stations but buying your own ahead of time is a great idea. Buy the same kind that they offer in the parks, at a lower price, and then you can still trade them in for a new one when yours dies. CHargers are a lifesaver because nowadays, so many things are available through our phones and having a dead battery can be a nightmare!
These are the 7 most important items I believe should be inside your park bags! Of course there are a lot more items you can and should bring based on your reasoning for going to the parks, who you are going with, and how long you are spending there! Is there something you have to have while in the parks? Let me know in the comments!
